Chillin’ At The Morgue – process

Ok, 1st process tutorial! I’m going to show the process and completion of this old design that kept getting interest in, but not bites for over a year. Scott Roberts got in contact with me with the odd request to have himself put into the image. Totally 80’s, Billie Idol hair, and a Michael Jackson-Thriller jacket. He had quite an interesting story about his rap song “Chilling In The Morgue” on the album he’s tracking right now in Nashville with producer Buddy Hyatt. The gallery below outlines the steps. I use any run-of-the-mill Wacom tablet and Photoshop.

  1. Ahhh, this is awesome, more of these please! What about the type-font you used? What is that? Is it a free-font or where can I buy it? How do you approach custom lettering? Would love to see a tutorial on that.

  2. I found these type faces on dafont.com and edited them a little bit by deleting parts and spacing them. I am trying to get better at my type so guess it’s getting there. thanks!
