“Archetype: Unknown” Solo show at Bisong Gallery

What is your personality other than a collection of experience?
Some say nothing is left when you take away all memories that shape self-identity.
As time goes on, more characteristics once thought to be simply “human” have been revealed to exist throughout the animal kingdom.
Vincent Fink sets out to explore the intersection of human and animal tendencies, while making commentary on the fluidity of identity. As we study how emotions turn into habits, habits into behavior, and behavior into personality, we find the “person” in this word is not distinct from many other living creatures, especially other mammals. Using acrylic and oil on canvas and panel, he continues his Sacred Geometry inspired series of Iterations paintings in this mini-series of archetypes through a neo-surreal lens.
