Iteration 63: Emerging from the Void
In the beginning there was darkness, and then there was light…
From the light came order and form. Now we are here as individual luminescent shards, units of the universe consciously observing its self. For millennia, our species has created mythology and religion to explain our place in the cosmos.
When the holiday season comes, I often reflect on these wonderful stories. I am intrigued by the esoteric history of ancient cults. Some say that the word “Israel” is actually a combination of Isis-Ra-El, the goddess Isis (divine feminine/moon), Ra (male energy/sun god) and El (the offspring of the previous two). The polytheistic cults merged together and with time the Judeo-Christian monotheist religion was born. Could this all be revealed in the numerological language of Hebrew or is it all semantic insanity? I am barely scratching the surface in my learning.
Today we enjoy this holiday season as Christmas and I enjoy it greatly because the bible story says life is a divine gift, and reminds me to be peaceful and thankful for everyone in my life, including YOU. The people who support me in these early stages of my history are of the utmost importance. So while you may not be religious, or even if you are, I like to project this thought process onto you. What makes you thankful? And why do you believe you are here in this space-time continuum? Who or what created us and if there is a creator, who created him? That question goes into an infinite digression. If not, how did we get something from nothing?

My work explores the love of these kinds of perennial questions and it’s easy to see in works such as the painting above. I am ever-inspired to learn more and keep an open mind. It is a passion for me and I hope I can inspire you to feel the same way about being alive in this cosmic menagerie, even if surrounded by darkness.
That said, I encourage you browse the shop page of this site to find a piece that speaks to your inner light or for someone you are thankful to have in your journey.
If you are not able to attend one of the last events of the year listed on my calendar (at the bottom of this page) I do have plenty of great gift ideas in my etsy shop as well as the online clothing shop of my signature brand Point506.
Merry Christmas to all,
and to all, best of energies!
